Well done to our Choir

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members

Well done to our Yakamia PS Choir who performed beautifully at the last assembly. Despite some technical hitches, you all showed resilience and a ‘You Can Do It’ attitude and sang with great tone and harmony. Thank you to Mrs Grosshans and Mr Fisher for the work you do with our choir students, we are looking forward to seeing them perform at the Great Southern Primary School’s Music Festival later this term.

Thank you to all families and students who supported our Telethon Ambassadors and came along to the movie night. Approximately $1300 was raised, well done!

Wearing school uniform promotes a sense of pride and belonging in our school. Our school uniform consists of red tops and green bottoms.

Every three years the school board reviews our Dress Code Policy to ensure it is current and reflects the expectations of our school. The School Board reviewed our Dress Code Policy in their last meeting and the updated policy has been included with this newsletter. The uniform shop is run by our P&C and is open on Tuesdays 2:45—3:30pm each week. You can also make an online order, please see order form section of the website.

We are currently updating our records of the technology that families have at home in the event that there was ever to be a school closure and we had to provide Remote Learning to our students. This information will allow us to know if we can provide your child/ren with online learning or if they would require work packs. A text message with a survey link has been sent to all families. We ask you to please complete this survey as soon as possible. If you are not able to access the link, please see the front office for a paper copy of the survey, thank you.

In Week 6 we will be celebrating Book Week and on Friday 27 August students have the opportunity to dress as their favourite book character . The parade of costumes will be at 9am and all families are welcome to attend.

Our next assembly is Friday 13 August and will be hosted by Room 34. We look forward to seeing you there!
Kind regards
Gemma Larham
