Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members
We are celebrating Book Week from Monday 21 August to Friday 25 August. During this week students will engage in a range of activities including buddy story reading, book week activities, two book week incursions, a poster competition, family book nook competition, a treasure hunt and a dress up day.
Friday 25 August will be our Book Character Dress Up Day for Kindy to Year 6. Students are to dress up as their favourite book character.
We will have our costume parade in the hall at 9am followed by awarding prizes for the poster and book nook competition. Parents/carers are most welcome to attend this special assembly.
If your family are creating a book nook, please hand this into the library by Tuesday 22 August.
We look forward to seeing all students participating in the Book Character Dress Up day.
This week was Science Week and students participated in a whole school activity day on Thursday. In multi-aged groups, students had the challenge of creating the tallest spaghetti tower that could hold a marshmallow at the top of the tower. Students used their innovation skills and collaborated to create some very interesting towers and demonstrated great team work. Well done to all students for your efforts and congratulations to Millie, Ashton and Elijah for building the tallest tower at 87cm and to Amity, Kai, Kelsey and Zac for coming second with a 85cm tower.
A BIG thank you to the students who participated in Footy Colours Day to raise money for Telethon. $378 was raised, well done – a great effort!
Kind regards
Gemma Larham
