From the Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Community Members

Thank you to all who supported the P&C Pyjama Day last week, and a special thank you to those families who donated goodies to be sold at recess time. The students loved being able to make a purchase from the canteen and having so many choices. The P&C raised $931 which was a fabulous effort for our school. All money raised by the P&C is going towards buying a new playground for the school.

Applications for enrolment for Kindergarten and Pre-Primary for 2024, are now open. If you have or know of a child turning 4 on or before June 30 next year, they are eligible to enrol into kindy. If your child is in kindergarten now, you will need to apply for Pre-Primary 2024. Forms were sent home to our current kindy students this week. Please return these as soon as possible.

Today the Telethon Ambassadors held a milo and hash brown morning tea and raised $700 For Telethon. Thank you to Miss Scott and the Ambassadors for a great morning tea!

The 26 May was National Sorry Day. This day acknowledges the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and is a time to reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation. Students across the school created murals of the native hibiscus, which is the symbol for Sorry Day. The native hibiscus was chosen because it is found widely across Australia and is a survivor of Australia’s harsh climate.

Congratulations to Quenda for winning the House Cross Country for 2024. A fabulous effort! Kardar places second and Karrak third. Well done to all place winners and we wish the interschool squad all the best at the Interschool Cross Country in Week 9.

Our next assembly will be hosted by Room 23 on Friday 16 June. All families are welcome to attend.
